Description
The Isabella Scelsi Foundation houses the Scelsi House Museum.
Open to the public since 1996, the museum was created at the behest of Giacinto Scelsi who left us, along with his music, his poems and his writings, the "place" where he lived and created for many years. In this flat, facing the solemn scenery of the Roman Forum, we find the piano still in use, which the Maestro played as a virtuoso, the legendary ondiole, the refined oriental objects, the ancient Tibetan trumpets - a reminder of his travels to the East in his youth - the painting with the aerial figure of a music deva, the famous diptych by Dalì "Couple with heads full of clouds" (the original is exhibited at the Mart Museum in Trento and Rovereto).
Among the curiosities, there are various amusing toys, his original oriental headgear, some childhood photographs with his beloved sister Isabella, to whom he dedicated the Foundation.
A large, beautiful flowering terrace offers visitors an exciting view of Rome.
