Description

SANT'EUGENIO The church of Sant'Eugenio, inaugurated by Pio XII in 1951, is a work by architects Galeazzi and Redini. It was offered to the Catholic world on the occasion of the XXVth anniversary of the episcopal consecration of Eugenio Pacelli (Pope Pio XII), in 1942. The project was drafted by Enrico Galeazzi along with Mario Redini. The wide façade is decorated with symbols of the Evangelisti. Very dominating are also the high dome and the bell-tower. The interior, basilican with a Latin cross and three naves on coupled columns, gathers up interesting works of modern art.
