Description
Opened in 1937, the Museum contains documents, uniforms and objects concerning the activities of the Guardia di Finanza Corps in the history of Italy. The material, organised in eight rooms and in wide corridors, documents the history of the Corps starting from its origins, dating back to the establishment in Piedmont in 1774 of the Light Troops Legion commissioned by Vittorio Amedeo III di Savoia. There are separate sections dedicated to the Risorgimento, the First and Second World Wars, the colonial campaigns, the Resistance and the War of Liberation. One section is dedicated to the sports competitions and awards won by the Corps. Annexed to the Museum is the Corps' War Memorial and a historical library on military institutions.
