Description

The Historical-Didactic Museum of Games and Toys of the Twentieth Century exhibits about 2700 lithographed tin toys of European, American, and Asian manufacture between the Twenties and Sixties. The entire collection was started and increased in the course of years by the Viennese Fritz Billing who, after the annexation of Austria by the Nazis, fled to New York taking the toys with him. In 1979 the collection was bequeathed to Lisa and Franco Palmieri, Billing’s daughter and son-in-law.
