Description
The ruins in Piazza Ronchi probably belong to a building made of bricks, with the use of yellow and red bricks and an inner core of tuff flakes.
Of the structure, which must have had a rectangular plan, only two walls are partly preserved, with a maximum height of 2.20 metres; in one corner the remains of the cocciopesto covering, which was used to make the walls waterproof, are visible. On the outside of the walls there is a series of buttresses, while in one of the best preserved walls there is a door, or window, 90 cm wide with a travertine threshold, perhaps inserted in a second construction phase.
